The Uttar Pradesh Public Service Commission (UPPSC) conducts the combined state upper subordinate services Main exam for entry-level appointments in the state’s Civil Services. Check out the questions below to find answers to your queries related to the exam.

Question 1: Can candidates from other states also apply for the exam?

Yes, the candidates from other states can also apply. However, they will not get age relaxation based on state domicile.

Question 2: If a candidate holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Science, is he eligible for UP PCS exam?

Yes, he is eligible for the exam. Candidates with a Bachelor’s Degree in any stream from a UGC recognized University/Institute can fill up the application form.

Question 3: Can a foreign nationals residing in India apply for the exam?


Question 4: I was born in the state of Uttar Pradesh and later on moved to Maharashtra. Does that mean I’m not all good for the Uttar Pradesh Provincial Civil Services?

Well, you can sit for the exam if you can produce the domicile of Uttar Pradesh state.

The admit cards of preliminary exam has been released by the Uttar Pradesh Public Service Commission. The exam of the preliminary stage will be held on 15th December 2019. On the other hand the mains for the same will be held on 29th April 2020.

Question 7: Is there negative marking scheme?

Yes. Candidates have to take extra care while answering.

Question 8: How much mark for Personal Interview?

100 marks.

Question 9: When will be the Main phase examination conducted?

The Main phase examination will be conducted on 29th April 2020 in two different stages.
