RRB JE Exam 2022 Pattern & Syllabus

RRB JE recruitment process will be conducted through the following stages:

• Computer Based Test (1^st Stage)
• Computer Based Test (2^nd Stage)
• Document Verification/Medical Examination (as applicable)

Negative Marking: There will be a provision of negative marking in both the CBTs. 1/3^rd of the marks allotted to any question will be deducted for the wrong answer.

RRB JE Pattern and Syllabus (1st Stage CBT)

The first stage CBT will comprise of 100 objective type questions with multiple choices. The duration of the test will be 90 minutes (120 minutes for PwBD candidates accompanied by Scribe). Questions will be from the following areas:

General Intelligence & Reasoning: Alphabetical and Number Series, Analogies, Mathematical operations, Coding and Decoding, Relationships, Jum-bling, Syllogism, Venn Diagram, Data Interpretation and Sufficiency, Similarities and Differences, Conclusions and Decision Making, Analytical reasoning, Directions, Classification, Statement – Arguments and Assumptions etc.

General Awareness: Knowledge of Current affairs, culture and history of India including freedom struggle, Indian geography, Indian Economy, Indian Polity and constitution, Environmental issues concerning India and the World, General scientific and technological developments, Sports etc.

General Science: Chemistry, Physics, and Life Sciences (up to CBSE 10^th Syllabus)

RRB JE Pattern and Syllabus (2nd Stage CBT)

150 objective type questions with multiple choices will be asked in the second stage CBT. The maximum duration of the exam is 120 minutes. Here is the section-wise distribution for the number of questions:

Document Verification/medical examination will be conducted as applicable for the candidates shortlisted through the second stage CBT examination.

RRB JE Exam 2022 Eligibility

Nationality

• The candidate should be a citizen of India, Nepal, Bhutan, Tibet, etc. Check out complete eligibility in the official notification.

Educational Qualification

• A candidate should have 3 years Engineering Diploma from a recognised University/institute in any one of the subjects – Mechanical/Production Engineering/Electrical/Electronics/Manufacturing/Tools & Die Making/Mechatronics/ Industrial/Machining/Automobile/Instrumentation & Control/Tools & Machining/Civil Engineering.

Age Limit

• As on 1^st January 2022, the applicant should not be less than 18 years and should not be more than 33 years of age.
• There is age relaxation for Reserved Category candidates.

Please Note: As per the official notification, “Those awaiting results of the final examination of the prescribed educational/technical qualification SHOULD NOT apply.”

RRB JE Exam 2022 Application Process

Before moving ahead with the application process, read the official information bulletin carefully, check your eligibility, get the scanned images of photograph, signature, and category certificate ready, and check the vacancy table for different RRBs.

RRB JE Exam Application Process

• Go to the official website of the RRB through which you want to appear for the exam. The list of RRBs’ websites is given above. Please note that the selection of RRB cannot be changed once the registration number is allotted.
• Click on the ‘Click here to Apply for CEN 03/2021’ link.
• Select your preferred RRB and ‘Confirm’ it.
• Click on the ‘New Registration’ button.
• Enter your name, DOB, parents’ name, Aadhaar number, mobile number, email id etc. Make sure that all the information is correct. Submit the information.
• The registration Id and password will appear on the screen and an OTP will be sent to your registered email id and mobile number.
• Enter the OTP in the respective textbox and ‘Validate’.
• Click on the ‘Apply/Edit’ option and fill the eligibility criteria form.
• Submit the eligibility form and the list of posts you are eligible for will appear on the screen.
• Select your preference and submit the same.
• Select the exam group and click on the payment tab.
• Make the application fee payment.*
• After successful payment of the fee, click on ‘Fill additional details’ option to complete the application process.
• Upload the scanned images of photograph and signature. Make sure that the scanned images are uploaded properly by clicking on ‘Preview’ option. The modification will be done on payment of ₹ 100/-.
• Click on ‘Final Submit’ button to complete the application process.

*Application Fee Payment

Candidates are required to pay the application fee as per their category:

Important: ₹ 400 for General category and ₹ 250 for the reserved categories will be refunded (after deducting applicable bank charges) after the candidates appear for the 1^st stage CBT.

Mode of Payment

Application fee can be paid through the following modes:

• Net Banking/Credit card/Debit card
• Payment through e-challan at SBI branches
• Payment through Post office by generating e-challan

No other mode of payment will be accepted.

RRB JE Exam 2022 Other Details

RRB JE Exam Paper Language

English will be the default language for the question paper. Candidates will also be given choice for selecting other languages. These languages are:

RRB JE Exam Admit Card 2022

RRB will issue the Hall Tickets of Document Verification and Medical Exam for Junior Engineer (JE) exam 2022 at the official website of the respective RRBs. The admit cards will be made available to download one week prior to the exam date through the online mode only.

Please note that no admit card will be sent through the post. The admit card contains details such as the candidate’s Name, Roll Number, examination date, venue, etc. It is mandatory to carry the admit card to the examination centres for appearing in the exam.

• RRB releases the JE exam result through the official websites of different RRBs.
• Candidates who have appeared in the examination can check the result through their log-in credentials.
