The Bank has started seeking RBI Officer Grade B 2022 online applications from eligible candidates for various officer posts in Grade B. RBI recruits candidates for the Officer level (Grade ‘B’) - General, DR, DEPR, and DSIM in Common Seniority Group (CSG) through the entrance exam. RBI Officer Exam (Grade B) 2022 Pattern & Syllabus

There are three stages in this examination. In the first stage written examination is held in which there are objective type questions of 200 marks. Those candidates who qualify the Phase 1 of written examination are called to take up Phase-2 of the written examination. In Phase-2, there are objective and descriptive type questions of 300 marks. Those candidates who qualify the Phase 2 of the written examination are further called for the Interview which is of 50 marks.

Exam pattern of Written Phase 1 (Preliminary)

  • Phase 1 of the written examination will be conducted online.
  • It will have objective type questions.
  • The duration of the exam is 2 hours.
  • The total marks for this section of the exam are 200.
  • There are four sections in this phase of exam namely -
    • General awareness
    • Quantitative Aptitude
    • Reasoning and
    • English language

There is a scheme of negative marking in the examination. For every incorrect response or answer, 0.25 marks will be deducted.

Exam pattern of Written Phase 2 (Main)

  • This Phase 2 of the written exam will also be conducted online.
  • The total duration of the exam will be 90 minutes.
  • It has both objective as well as descriptive type questions.
  • There are three papers in this exam, namely Paper 1, Paper 2 and Paper 3.

Paper 1 has Economics and Social IssuePaper 2 is for English Language and Paper 3 is related to Finance and Management.

There is no scheme of negative marking in this phase of the exam.


RBI Grade B Syllabus

English Language: Grammar, Comprehension, Vocabulary, Error Spotting, Fill in the Blanks, Jumble Words.

Quantitative Aptitude: Ratio and Proportion, Percentage, Algebra, Average, Data Interpretation, Probability, Mensuration, Trigonometry, Speed, Distance, and Time, Data Interpretation.

Reasoning: Inequality, Verbal Reasoning, Machine Input-Output, Syllogism, Data Sufficiency, Ordering & Ranking, Blood Relations, Coding-Decoding, Floor Puzzle, Arrangement and Pattern, Linear Arrangement.

Static Awareness: History, Mountains, Environmental Facts, Geography, Political Science, Thermal Power Plants.

Economic News: Monetary Policies, Economics Terms, Financial & Economics News.

Economic and Social Issues: Growth and Development, Economic Reforms in Indian, Globalization, Social Structure in India.

RBI Officer Exam (Grade B) 2022 Eligibility

Educational Qualification

  • A candidate belonging to the General category should have a minimum score of 60% marks in Graduation (any discipline).
  • The Reserved category (Scheduled Caste/Scheduled Tribe/PwD) candidate should have a minimum score of 50% marks in Graduation.

OR

  • Post-graduation (any discipline)/ equivalent technical or professional qualification with minimum 55% marks (pass for SC/ ST/ PwD).

Note: As per the official notification, the following qualify as graduation/ post graduation course.

Graduation Level

“Any such course from a recognised University / Institute that is taken after Class XIIth and is at least of 3 years’ duration / candidates possessing professional or technical qualifications which are recognised by the Government as equivalent to professional or technical graduation will be eligible for admission to the examination, subject to obtaining minimum marks prescribed above.”

“Candidates who have passed the Final Examination for Membership of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India may also apply for the post, subject to obtaining minimum marks prescribed above.”

Post-Graduation Level

“Any such course from a recognised University / Institute that is taken after Graduation and is at least of 2 years’ duration / recognised by the Government as equivalent to professional or technical Post-Graduation will be eligible for admission to the examination, subject to obtaining minimum marks prescribed above.”

Number of Attempts

  • For General candidates, the maximum number of attempts for the exam is 6.
  • For Reserved category candidates there is no restriction on the number of attempts until the attainment of their upper age limit.

Age limit

The minimum age limit for the exam is 21 years and the maximum age limit is 30 years for the General category candidates.

The upper age limit for M.Phil. and Ph.D. qualifications is 32 and 34 years, respectively.

For reserved category candidates, there will be relaxation in the upper age limit.

RBI Officer Exam (Grade B) 2022 Application Process

Candidates can get the application form online on the RBI’s official website. There is no other mode to fill out the application form. Candidates should check the ‘how to apply section’ of the application form before filling it out. They should fill all the necessary columns of it. It should be noted that it is important to fill all the required columns of the application form, otherwise, the application form might get rejected.

The application process has begun online at rbi.org.in from 28th March 2022. Submit the application on or before 18th April 2022.

Here is the process for filling the application form:

  • Visit the official website - https://www.rbi.org.in.
  • Click on the ‘Opportunities@RBI’ link in the footer.
  • Click on the ‘Vacancies’ option under the ‘Current Vacancies’ drop-down.
  • Look for the RBI Grade B Officer Exam 2022 link.
  • Click on the application link.
  • Enter your name, email ID, contact details, etc. for registration.
  • The registration ID and password will be sent to the email ID and mobile number.
  • Log-in using the registration ID and password and complete the remaining application form.
  • Upload the scanned images of photograph, signature, and left-hand thumb impression.
  • Pay the application fee.
  • After the final application submission, take a print of the confirmation page.

Application Fee

The application fee for the General and OBC candidates is ₹ 850. It is ₹ 100 for SC/ST or PwD category candidates. There will be no fee for the staff of the RBI.

RBI Officer Exam (Grade B) 2022 Other Details

Interview Stage

Those candidates who qualify for the written exam phase 2 are called for the interview. The total weightage for the interview is 50 marks.

Important Note: Selected candidates need to send one set of Self-attested photocopies of the following documents:

  1. Date of Birth Certificate
  2. Educational Qualifications - Mark sheets and Degree/Passing certificates
  3. Caste certificate (For SC/ST/OBC/EWS) and Disability certificate (For PwBD)
  4. Interview Call Letter/ Admit Card

RBI Grade B Officer Admit Card 2022 -

Candidates can download their admit cards from the official website of the RBI. It can be downloaded by entering details like Registration Number, Password and Date of birth. It should be noted that the RBI will not send the hard copy of the admit card and the postal address of the student candidate.

While on the other hand, RBI Grade B Interview Admit Card/Call Letter will be sent separately to each shortlisted candidate on the registered e-mail ID. Candidates selected for the Interview round must take a printout of the admit card or call letter.

RBI Officer 2022 Exam: Cut off marks and Result

In order to qualify for this exam, a candidate is required to score either equal to or more marks than the cutoff marks. Candidates can check their results on the official website of the RBI. There will be 3 results in this exam declared at each phase of the exam. After the interview, the final result will be announced on the official website of the RBI.
