UPSC Started Online Application Process for Combined Geo-Scientist and Geologist Examination 2018

The online application process for UPSC Combined Geo-Scientist and Geologist exam 2018 has started at the official website.

22 March 2018: Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) has invited online application for the Combined Geo-Scientist and Geologist examination 2018. Candidates can check out the official notification.

How to Apply for UPSC Combined Geo-Scientist and Geologist Examination 2018

  • Go to UPSC official website; http://www.upsc.gov.in/
  • Click on “Apply Online” link at the right side corner of the home page.
  • Click on “Online Application for Various Examinations” link.
  • Now click on the link under Part-I registration column in front of the Combined Geo-Scientist and Geologist exam
  • Complete both Part-I and Part-II of the registration to complete the application process.
  • Take a print out of the confirmation page.

The last date to apply for the exam is 16 April 2018 till 06:00 PM.

Vacancy Details

Qualified candidates in the examination will be recruited for the following posts:

Posts in the Geological Survey of India, Ministry of Mines

  • Geologist (Group A): 24
  • Geophysicist (Group A): 17
  • Chemist (Group A): 06

Posts in the Central Ground Water Board, Ministry of Water Resources

  • Junior Hydro-geologists (Scientist B) (Group A): 23

Application Fee

Candidates are required to pay a sum of money towards application fee as per their category:

  • General and OBC category – ₹ 200/-
  • Females/SC/ST/PwBD category – No Application Fee

Application fee can be paid through internet banking facility of SBI, master/RuPay/Visa/Debit/Credit Card or by depositing cash in any SBI branch. Please note that ‘Pay by cash’ mode will close a day before the closing date of application form i.e. 15 April 2018.

Exam Pattern

The exam will be conducted in two phases as under:

  • Part 1 – Written Examination
  • Part 2 – Interview/Personality Test carrying 200 marks
