New Delhi/20.06.2018: In a recent move by the government, NTA (National Testing Agency), the one-point agency of Centre, will likely to conduct JEE Main and NEET exams twice a year. It will carry out the first test in December 2018 for the 2019 academic year. The move is certainly going to benefit hundreds and thousands of engineering and medical aspirants.

Why National Testing Agency Formed?

The National Testing Agency was formed to conduct various high profile examinations organised by CBSE. The main purpose was to relieve the Central Board of Secondary Education from its heavy duties of carrying out entrance examinations and letting the Board focus on enhancing the quality of high education. Currently, CBSE is organising as many as 9 types of entrance tests including NEET, UGC NET, JEE Main, etc.

Last year, Upendra Kushwaha, MHRD (Minister of State for Human Resource Development) had stated in the Lok Sabha that JEE Main and NEET might be held twice a year. He had said, “The exams will be conducted online at least twice a year, thereby giving an adequate opportunity to the candidates to bring out their best”.
