NEET 2019 Updates - Paper Analysis, Answer Key, Exam Postponed in Odisha
The National Testing Agency has conducted the NEET (UG) 2019 exam successfully at all the other centres across the country. The exam was conducted as scheduled on 5th May 2019 (Sunday) from 2:00 PM to 5:00 PM through pen and paper mode. This was the first NEET exam under the National Testing Agency.
The national level entrance examination is conducted for admission to medical and dental courses at the undergraduate level offered by all the colleges/institution affiliated to the Medical Council of India. NEET 2019 Paper Analysis
As per the reports, Physics was the toughest and Biology was the easiest section in this year’s paper. The whole paper was easier than the last year’s paper.
As per Mr. Navin C Joshi, VP and Academic Head at Gradeup, the overall level of the NEET 2019 exam was from easy to moderate. He further said, “Most of the questions were based on NCERT textbooks. There were almost 7-8 questions directly taken from previous year's paper and NCERT textbook. The questions were direct. An aspirant who has studied from NCERT, will be able to score well in the exam.”
Rajshekhar Ratrey, VP, Educational Content, Toppr.com, said, “Overall NEER 2019 was of moderate difficulty level with Physics being the most difficult of the three subjects while Biology was the easiest but lengthy.”

Kajal Sharma, a NEET aspirant, said; “I took quick decisions on Botany questions, but the chemistry section was a bit tough.”
Another student, Jayant Bakoria, said; “I got enough time to solve physics as I completed my chemistry section in just 35 minutes and biology section in the next 50 minutes. There was no surprise element in the paper.”
“I am happy with paper as I found direct questions from NCERT books and previous years’ question papers. I found a few numerical questions from Chemistry section a bit complicated but the overall paper was an easy one,” said Shreya Cyani, another NEET aspirant.
NEET 2019 Expected Cut-Off
The experts are of the opinion that the general cut-off for qualifying the NEET exam may vary between 125-135 or 130-140.
NEET 2019 Answer Key
The next step after the NEET exam is the release of answer key. The official answer keys are to be released tentatively by 12th MAy 2019. Candidates will be given an option to challenge the answer key on payment of ₹ 1000/- per question. The final answer key will be released along with the NEET 2019 result, which is scheduled to be announced by 5th June 2019. Some coaching institutes have released the unofficial answer key for the exam. Candidates can check the same at their respective websites.
NEET 2019 Postponed in Odisha
NTA has postponed the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET) 2019 for exam centres in Odisha due to Cyclone Fani. The state has requested the postponement of examinations as it is working on the rehabilitation work.
A public notice issued by the exam conducting authority, NTA, states, “On the request of the State Government of Odisha in the wake of Fani Cyclone, the NEET (UG) - 2019 Examination, which was scheduled to be held on 05.05.2019 (Sunday), has been postponed only for the Candidates having Examination Centre in Odisha until further notice. The new date for these candidates will be announced soon.”
Such candidates must keep a check at the official website.
