The Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Madras has opened the facility to make corrections in the names incorrectly entered during the GATE 2019 registration process. The correction window will remain open for 4 days from 14th to 17th February 2019 on the official GATE portal – appsgate.iitm.ac.in.
Name Correction Procedure
Candidates who would like to make corrections in their name can send an email to firstname.lastname@example.org. Here are the details to be included in the email:
The subject of the email – Name correction, Enrollment ID. Write ‘Name Correction’ followed by your enrollment ID.
Enter the following details in the email:
- Registration Number
- Enrollment ID
- Present Name (incorrect name)
- Correct Name
- Soft copy of the name proof (Aadhaar card, Eligibility Certificate, Degree Certificate, Examination Mark Sheets, etc.)
No changes can be made in any other details of the application form. The exam conducting authority has allowed corrections in the exam city in the month of November 2018.
Provisionally Accepted Candidates
List of candidates whose applications are provisionally accepted is also released. The official notice states,
“Your application is provisional due to one or more of the following reasons:
- Photograph not clear
- Signature not clear
- Eligibility certificate not complete
- Valid SC/ST category certificate not provided
- Valid PwD certificate not provided etc.”
If the defects are not rectified by 15th February 2019, the examination results will be withheld for the provisionally accepted candidates.
IIT Madras has also released candidates’ responses for the GATE 2019 exam on the official website recently. The responses are available online. The GATE 2019 exam was conducted on 2nd, 3rd, 9th, and 10th February 2019 for admission to PG courses offered at major technological colleges in the country.
GATE 2019 Result
The GATE 2019 result will be declared on 16th March 2019.
