05th August 2020: The National Institute of Open Schooling (NIOS) has put an end to the long wait and declared the NIOS 12th Result 2020 for senior secondary board exams. The link to check the result of the NIOS Board Exams 2020 has been activated and candidates are recommended to check result through the website- results.nios.ac.in.
This year because of the COVID-19 pandemic, the class 10 and 12 exams could not be conducted due to which the board has declared the results on the basis of an alternative assessment policy.
NIOS Board Exams 2020 (Cancelled), Result Issued on Internal Assessment
As per the media reports, an official notification was also published by the NIOS regarding the cancellation of the senior secondary and secondary examinations 2020, which were earlier scheduled to be held from 17th July 2020. For subjects, which no exams were held, students will get marks based on the average of the best three marks obtained in the subjects for which exams have been conducted. A similar format was followed by other boards including CBSE, CISCE.
Students who have passed in three subjects, the average score will be calculated based on the best of two and for those who have past performance in one or two subjects their theory performance will be calculated based on average performance in theory of last three public examinations.

Students can check their NIOS 12th Result 2020 via three options: NIOS official website, SMS, and DigiLocker. Below you can check the step-by-step guide to check the result via website.
- Open the official website of NIOS Board - nios.ac.in
- Go the result tab and you will be landing on the page, which says - results.nios.ac.in.
- Now, under the senior secondary (March- April) Result tab, click on the link that reads ‘Check Result’.
- Now, enter your login details including enrolment number and date of birth, and submit it.
- Your NIOS Class 12th Result 2020 will be displayed on screen.
- At last, download and take its print out.
