The applications for the Chevening Scholarship for the academic year 2019 are open now. The last date for the application is 6th November 2018. Students from all across the world are invited to apply for the scholarship. As per the recent changes, an independent application committee will now assess the applications against the set eligibility criteria.

About Chevening Scholarship

The UK government gives this scholarship to international students for pursuing Masters Programme in any UK Universities. The students are selected for the scholarship not only on the basis of their academic performance but for their leadership skills also.

Eligibility Criteria

Applicants can successfully apply for the scholarship only if they meet the criterion given below. Any student who fails to meet the criteria is considered ineligible for the reward.

  • The candidate must be a citizen of a Chevening eligible country
  • A return ticket to your country for a minimum of 2 years after your award has ended.
  • Have a bachelors/undergraduate degree in order to get an entry for a postgraduate course in the UK University.
  • The candidate must have a work experience of at least 2 years. (the number of years increases depending on the country the candidates resides in)
  • Apply to at least 3 different universities in the UK and attain an unconditional offer letter from one of them.
  • Complete the Chevening English language requirements.

How to Apply

Candidates need to follow only a few simple steps to submit their applications online. The steps include: -

  • Click on the Apply button from the menu.
  • Select your country to search for a scholarship.
  • Go through all the guidelines and details.
  • Now, click on the “Apply for the Scholarship” option and start filling the application form.
  • You will receive email updates about your application status once you are done applying.

Essential Documents

Those students who have applied for the Chevening Scholarship programme should keep a few important dates in their mind. If they get short-listed by the assessment committee for the scholarship, then they will receive a notification about their selection by mid-February 2019.

The important documents that each applicant needs to submit are: -

  • National Identity Proof or a valid Passport
  • University Mark sheets as well as Degree certificates (Graduation and Post Graduation)
  • 3 different UK Master’s course choices.
  • Names and Contact information of 2 references.
