Dr APJ Abdul Kalam Ignite Scholarship/ Awards for Class 12th Students
The Department of Science and Technology, Government of India invites applications for the Dr APJ Abdul Kalam ‘IGNITE’ Scholarship award. Only Indian students are eligible to apply for it. This scholarship is given in the form of a national award by the NIF (National Innovation Foundation of India). The NIF acts as the head institution that facilitates all kinds of support to the budding talents at the grassroots level in India. Under this scholarship, students up to Class 12th are encouraged to submit their innovative technological scientific ideas.

Benefits under the Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam IGNITE Scholarship Award
- The award is given in the form of prize money, recognition of the innovation, and further support to nurture the talent of the students.
- Those students who are selected for the award are given travelling fares and hospitality expenses for Ahmedabad.
Eligibility for the Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam IGNITE Scholarship Award
- An applicant should be up to Class 12th only. If not then the applicant should not be more than 17 years of age.
- There are no fixed numbers of the award. It depends on the numbers of applications every year.
How to Apply
- Open the online application form from the official website.
- Fill in all the necessary details
- Attach all the required documents
- Submit the form after reading all the terms and conditions
Important Details
- Interested students are allowed to submit as many entries as they want.
- There is also an option to submit entries in a group.
- Teachers or Parents are not allowed as group members for the project.
- There is no limitation on the stream chosen by the student. (science, arts, commerce; a student from any stream can apply)
- It is required to mention the name, age, class, school name and address, house address, phone number, name and complete description of the project or idea, diagrams/sketches/pictures; in a specified manner.
- Don’t forget to attach a declaration specifying that no help from parent/guardian was taken while completing the project.
- Essays on common topics like global warming, population, education etc will not be accepted. Original ideas and topics will be given top priority.
- There is no registration fee to apply for the program.
- The results will be announced on 15th October 2018.
