The MHT CET or MH CET is the abbreviated form of the Maharashtra Common Entrance Test. This is a state-level entrance exam organized by the Government of Maharashtra Common Entrance Test Cell for admission to UG courses in engineering/technology, pharmacy, and professional degree courses in Agriculture. Clearing the exam can place interested candidates in the top-notch technical government as well as private colleges in the state of Maharashtra. The Directorate of Technical Education (DTE) is the exam-conducting body of MHT CET 2023.

Group-Wise Exam Dates for PCB and PCM students –

MHT CET Exam 2023 Pattern & Syllabus

MHT CET 2023 Exam Pattern -

The MHTCET 2023 exam will consist of 3 papers. Paper-I and II are compulsory for candidates willing to take up the engineering course. An applicant seeking admission to Pharm.D degree course must appear for Paper-I and/or Paper-III as well as Paper-II. The pen-and-paper mode exam will have objective-type questions.

MHTCET 2023 Syllabus -

The MHTCET Syllabus 2023 will comprise the study structure or curriculum of the Maharashtra State Board of Secondary and Higher Secondary Education. 80% weightage will be given to XII standard curriculum, while 20% weightage will be given to the standard XI curriculum. This means you will mainly have to study topics from Mathematics, Physics, and Chemistry. You need to plan your preparation strategy as per the chapters and topics prescribed by the Directorate.

MHT CET Exam 2023 Eligibility

The eligibility criteria of the Maharashtra Common Entrance Test 2023 constitute information about the educational qualification of the candidates, their age, nationality, etc. These measures would determine whether they can go ahead with the application process or not. Let’s take a quick look at some of the important MHT CET 2023 eligibility criteria.

  • Nationality: The applicants should be citizens of India.
  • Academic Qualification: They should have passed Class 12th or equivalent test from a recognized University/ Board in PCM or PCB subjects.
  • Minimum Marks: To be eligible for MHT CET 2023, the minimum mark you need to score in the 12th standard is 50%. Candidates belonging to SC/ST/OBC categories need to possess 40% marks in aggregate.
  • Qualifying Exam: The candidates appearing in the qualifying exam in 2023 are also eligible to apply.
  • Age Limit: No age bar for the MHTCET exam.

Note: Students from overseas countries (NRI, PIO, OCI, Gulf Countries, etc.) can get direct admissions to technical colleges without appearing in the exam. However, such candidates must have passed the minimum qualifying exam with the required marks.

MHT CET Exam 2023 Application Process

The application form for the MHTCET 2023 exam can only be filled out online. The application forms will be available on the official website in February 2023. Read the instructions carefully before remitting the application fee amount. Forms submitted without the required fee amount will be rejected.

  • Candidates can apply online by visiting the official website of MHTCET.
  • Click on the registration page and fill in the fields with details like name, address, mobile number, and valid email id.
  • Upon registration, the login ID and password will be sent to the registered email id.
  • With the login credentials, candidates can get access to the application form.
  • Fill in all the necessary columns with appropriate details.
  • Upload scanned copies of the photograph, signature, and educational documents.
  • Remit the application fee amount as prescribed by DTE.
  • Take a printout of the confirmation page for future reference.

The scanned copies should be in JPEG/JPG format. The size of the photograph and signature should be between 15KB to 50 KB and between 5KB to 20 KB, respectively.
