The S.P. Jain Institute of Management and Research, Mumbai, which is popularly known as SPJIMR is one of the prestigious business schools under the Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan society. S.P. Jain Institute of Management and Research or SPJIMR, Mumbai located in the western suburbs of Andheri in Mumbai. This institute has the oldest programme as a Post Graduate Diploma in Management (PGDM) as the quality learning of business and management.

SPJIMR, initiated as the leading school of management in the financial capital of the nation. The institute has been inaugurated in the year 1981 with the vision to provide best education facilities for business study learning. It has been reached up to the two top 10 business schools of India in the past years with its dedication, quality and commitment.

SPJIMR comes under the Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan and function as an autonomous Institute since its inception. The institute is aim to persuade learning practice and promote value-based growth for an individual as well organized. The management is not a regular learning or classroom study, so the corporate exposure is also incorporated with the theoretical learning. It used to get 900+ admission intakes in any regular admission session under the various courses.

SPJIMR has recently introduced the student-faculty connect, launched Design Thinking across all programmes, accelerated faculty development and stepped up engagement with alumni, corporations and other stakeholders to enhance the learning experience. The constant approach to learn is going beyond the conventional manner.

PGDM program

Total intake - 240

The Post Graduate Diploma in Management (PGDM)  of SPJIMR is a two-year full-time residential programme which is equivalent to an MBA. This is approved by the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) as considering the quality and standard of education. This programme offers specialisations in various sections of management and business studies.

Students can choose any of these specialisations Finance, Information Management, Marketing and Operations. Apart from these major specialisations, there are few more minors too. The minor specialisations are Analytics, Consulting, Finance, Information Management, Manufacturing and Marketing & Operations; students can choose accordingly.

Selection process

The selection for Post Graduate Diploma in Management (PGDM) applicants will be on the basis of their profiles and then they will get shortlisted. Along this, they should have a decent score in one of the entrance exams. The applicants’ profiles are scored and the applicants are sorted into two different groups as Profile based and Profile cum Score based.

Shortlists - Interviews

The applicants, who will be shortlisted in the first list will be called for an early interview process. The selection will be based on their profile considering these factors.

Second Phase Shortlists

The 2nd phase of interview call will be available after the entrance test scores. This requires applicants to get a call for interviews on the basis of their profile and the criteria, along with their performance in the respective entrance tests.

Selection List

The selection list is based on a composite score of the candidates, which counts the applicant’s profile, academic record, entrance test scores (CAT/XAT/GMAT), relevance of work experience (if any) and performance in the two rounds of group interviews for final selection. The final selection list will be released to take admission by students.

The fee for the Class of 2017-19 programme for Indian students is ₹ 16 lakhs. It includes tuition fee, basic hostel/ accommodation and Global Fast Track. This is subjected to revise accordingly.
