MAH-CET Exam

MAH-CET is Maharashtra Common Entrance Test, which is conducted every year by the Directorate of Technical Education of Maharashtra. The exam paves a way for the entry of students in the postgraduate programmes of MBA/ MMS/ PGDBM/ PGDM. The application forms are invited every year for the admission of students in the Postgraduate courses in the government managed University, various University Departments and unaided institutes in the state of Maharashtra. MAH CET 2020 Syllabus

The syllabus for MAH CET exam is prepared by the Directorate of Technical Education (DTE) Maharashtra. The syllabus is as under:

Logical/ Abstract Reasoning - Questions are asked to test candidates’ thinking ability and accuracy. Questions will be based on figures, diagrams, and verbal reasoning, etc.

Verbal Ability and Reading Comprehension - Reading comprehension followed by related questions, questions on grammar, vocabulary, sentence completion, antonyms, synonyms, comprehension passages, etc.

Quantitative Aptitude - Arithmetic, quantitative reasoning, ratio & proportion, percentage, charts, interpretation of tablets, common graphs, etc.



MAH-CET Exam 2020 Eligibility

Nationality -

The candidate should be an Indian citizen.

Educational Qualification -

  • A candidate should have a Bachelor’s or equivalent degree with at least 50% of marks in aggregate in any discipline from recognised University by the UGC or the Association of Indian Universities.
  • The candidates who belong to backward class/ category or PwD (Person with disability) from Maharashtra are given relaxation in the aggregate marks. They should require a score of minimum 45% marks to become eligible for the exams.
  • The candidates who are appearing in the final years of Graduation are also eligible to appear in the exam.

MAH CET Exam Reservation Of Seats

The seat will is reserved for the various categories of candidates in the exam. Check below for the distribution of reserved seats among the various categories of candidates-

MAH-CET Exam 2020 Application Process

Candidates can apply for the exam online through the official website. The registration will start in the second week of January 2020 and continue till the third week of February 2020.

How To Apply for MAHCET Exam -

  • A candidate should visit the official website of the MAH-CET exam.
  • A candidate should get registered first. For registration, a candidate should provide his/her personal details like Name, Mobile number, and valid Email id.
  • At this stage, the candidate is given a unique Login ID and Password which he/she must keep or remember until the completion of the examination process. On this email id, the exam conducting authority will update candidates for the exam. If any changes are made in the exam, for instance, in its schedule or the center of the exam, the candidates will be informed about it.
  • Upon registration, the candidates can access the application form. A candidate should fill all specified columns in the application form.
  • Upload the scanned copies of the Photograph and Signature in the given sizes.
  • Candidates are advised to check their application form before the final submissions.
  • Finally, a candidate should take the print of the applied application form.
  • They should pay the application fee for the exam.

Payment of Application Fee -

  • The Application fee should be paid online through the Credit Card/ Debit card/ Visa/ Maestro Card/ Rupay/ Internet Banking/Cash Cards/ IMPS/Mobile Wallets.
  • It should be noted that Application Fee paid once will not be refunded under any circumstances.

Other Details

Admit Card

Candidates can obtain the admit cards online from the official website of the MAH-CET from the first week of March 2020 onwards. Candidates are required to download their Admit Card by entering the details of their Registration number and Date of Birth. They must carry their respective Admit Cards at the examination center.

Result Declaration

The MAH-CET 2020 exam result will be declared in the last week of March 2020. The candidates can check their results on the official website of the MAH-CET. Candidates can get their results by entering details of their Application ID and seat number. Soon after the declaration of the results, a merit list of successful candidates will be published. On the basis of the merit list candidates are allocated seats in various colleges.

Counselling and Allocation of Seats

Counselling and allocation of seats are done by the CAP (Centralized Admission Process). No personal communication is made to candidates for counselling. Instead, the successful candidates are required to fill the online admission application form indicating their preference for the course and college.

The CAP comprises of three rounds. The third round is conducted candidates only for the Maharashtra candidates. The final allocation of seats will be made on the basis of the candidate’s rank and his/her preference.
