MAH CET Exam

The MAH-CET is Maharashtra Common Entrance Test, which is conducted every year by the Directorate of Technical Education of Maharashtra. The exams pave the way for the entry of students in the post graduate programmes of MBA/MMS/PGDBM/PGDM. On Jan.19,2017, the notification for the entrance exams of MAH-MBA/MAH-MMS has been announced by the competent authority of Maharashtra which has been empowered under the Maharashtra Unaided Private Professional Educational Institutions (Regulation of Admissions and Fees) Act, 2015.The applications forms are invited for the admission of students in the Post graduate courses in the government managed University, various University Departments and unaided institutes in the state of Maharashtra.

Eligibility for MAH-CET Exam

Nationality – The candidate should be Indian.

Educational Qualification – 

  • The candidate should have done his Bachelor’s or equivalent with at least 50% of marks in aggregate in any discipline from any recognised university by the UGC or by the Association of Indian University.
  • Those candidates who belong to the backward class category or are PwD (Person with disability) from the Maharashtra are given relaxation in the aggregate marks requirement. They should have scored minimum of 45% marks in aggregate to become eligible to appear for the exams.
  • Those candidates who are appearing in the final years of their graduation are also eligible to appear in the exam.

Reservation Of seats MAH-CET 2017 Exams

There will be reservation of seats for the various categories of candidates in the exams. Check below for the distribution of reserved seats among the various categories of candidates-

MAH-CET Exam Admission Process

Candidates are required to apply for the exams only through the online mode. There is no provision for the application of form by the offline mode. The candidates should get themselves registered online and apply for it. The registration process of candidates will begin from the 21st January, 2017 and will continue till the 13th February 2017. The candidates should fill the application form thoroughly before submitting it online. They should ensure that the print out of the application form has been taken after they have finally submitted their application form. This will be for their future references as well as use.  Application sent through post/courier will not be entertained by the exam’s conducting authority. In fact those applications which are sent through the Post/Courier will be rejected by the authority. Further, they will make no further communication with the candidates in this regard.

How To Apply.

  • The candidate wishing to apply for the MAH-CET exam’s should visit the official website of the Maharashtra CET i.e. www.dtemaharashtra.gov.in/mba2017.
  • The candidate should first of all get himself registered on this official website by providing his personal details like name, mobile number and valid email id. At this stage the candidate is given a unique login id which he must keep or remember till the completion of the whole of the examination process. The reason for this is that through this email id the exam’s conducting authority will establish communication with the candidates who have applied for the exams. If any changes in the exams are made or if there is any changes in the centre of the exams the candidates will be informed suitably about it.
  • On being successfully registered the candidate will be given an access to the application form, into which he should fill all of his necessary details. The details which he is required to fill are about his personal details and educational background.
  • Along with the application form the candidate should also upload the scanned copy of his photograph and signature in the given sizes.
  • Candidates are advised to check their application form making the final submission of it.
  • Finally they must take out the print of the applied application form.
  • They must also pay the application fee for the exams

Payment of Application Fee

  • The Application fee should be paid only through the online mode. No other mode of payment of application fee will be entertained by the exam’s conducting authority.
  • It should be paid through the Credit Card/ Debit card/ Visa/ Maestro Card/ Rupay/ Internet Banking/Cash Cards/ IMPS/Mobile Wallets.
  • It should be noted that Application Fee paid once will not be refunded under any circumstances.

Admit Card Issuance of MAH-CET 2017 Exams

Candidates can obtain their admit cards online from the official website of the MAH-CET. The Admit cards will be available online from 23rd February, 2017. Candidates are required to download their Admit Card by entering details of their Registration number and Date of Birth. They must carry their respective Admit Cards when they will be appearing for the exam. Candidates will not be allowed to take up their exams if they fail to produce their admit card.

Result Declaration of MAH-CET 2017 Exams

On March 10th, 2017 the result of the MAH-CET Exams will be declared. Candidates can check their results on the official website of the MAH-CET. By entering details of their Application id and seat number candidates will be able to see their respective results. Soon after the declaration of the results, a merit list of all the successful candidates will be published. On the basis of this merit list candidates are allocated seats in the various colleges.

Counselling and Allocation of Seats

Counselling and allocation of seats to candidates are done by the CAP (Centralised Admission Process). No personal communications is made to candidates to appear for the counselling. Rather successful candidates are required to fill the online admission application form indicating their preference for the course and college. The CAP comprises of three rounds. In the first two rounds candidates should fill the separate online option form for their rounds. For the candidates of Maharashtra the third round will be conducted. The final allocation of seats will be made on the basis of candidate rank and his online option preference.
