IIT JAM 2021 Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)

The JAM 2021 application process has started on 10th September 2020 and will conclude on 17th October 2020. Check out the FAQs section for the exam to clarify all your queries before filling the application form.

Question 1: Is Biological Science paper discontinued?


Question 2: When will the counselling process begin?

The IIT JAM 2021 counselling process will be commenced tentatively in the month of June 2021, however no official dates has been announced yet.

Question 3: Have the officials announced the IIT JAM 2021 exam date?

Yes, the exam will be held on 14th February 2021.

Question 4: When and how can I access and fill the application form?

The Indian Institute of Science, Bangalore has started the online registration process for JAM 2021 on 10th September 2020. The last date for the same is 17th October 2020. The process will entirely be online. Candidates have to visit the JOAPS website, read the instructions carefully and fill the form.

Question 5: If I wish to use one email ID for multiple applications, can I do that?

No, doing this will result in the cancellation of the candidature. To submit one application, one valid email address should be used. Moreover, candidates must submit only one application form.

Question 6: What documents do I need to send?

No hard copy of any document will be sent to IIT Kanpur. Necessary documents like DOB, voter ID, aadhaar card, academic proof, photo, signature, etc. can be uploaded online.

Question 7: I have selected the wrong exam papers. Is it possible to modify or change it?

Yes. You can make changes in the selected paper. The process is provided on the IIT JAM 2021 exam page. The addition or changes requires additional fee payment. The test paper changes can be made only before the last date of application submission. However, no other changes can be made in the submitted application form.

Question 8: Will applicants have to post the printout of the submitted application form?


Question 9: At the time of the exam, are test-takers allowed to take mobile phones?

The candidates are allowed to take only the admit card, a pen and an ID proof.

Question 10: For how many JAM papers a candidate can apply?

Either one or two.
