IBPS RRB Exam 2017 Preliminary Pattern

The Institute of Banking Personnel Selection has issued the notification for 15000 + vacancies in the RRB's (Regional Rural Banks). It is a recruitment drive for selecting Officerson Scale 1, 2, and 3 and Office Assistants (Multipurpose).

The exam is scheduled to be held in the month of September on the following dates -

  • For Officer on the Scale 1- September 9th, 10th, and 16th, 2017.
  • For Office Assistants (Multi-purpose) - September 17th, 23rd, and 24th, 2017.

IBPS RRB 2017 Preliminary Pattern

If you are an applicant who has applied for both the posts, Officer on theScale 1 and Office Assistant (Multipurpose) exam, then you should know that both exams have the same syllabus. The difference lies only in the level of difficulty of the questions. So you can prepare for both the exams simultaneously. If, you are an applicant who has specifically applied only for the Officer's Scale 1 or Office Assistant (Multipurpose), then also you have the advantage to focus only on the single exam and prepare well for the IBPS RRB Exam 2017.

The Preliminary Exam is held only for the Officer’s Scale 1 and Office Assistant (Multipurpose).The Preliminary exam is followed by the Mains exam also. But for Officer on Scale 2 and Officer on Scale 3, there is a single stage exam only.

Below we are giving details about the Preliminary examination pattern of the IBPS RRB Preliminary 2017, exam.

  • There is a total number of 80 questions in the Preliminary IBPS RRB Exam 2017.
  • All questions should be attempted in 45 minutes.
  • There are two sections in the IBPS RRB 2017 Preliminary Exam, namely- 
    • Reasoning and
    • Numerical ability.

  • Each question carries 1 mark.
  • There is a scheme of negative marking in this exam. The 0.25 mark is deducted for every incorrect answer.
  • The exam will be conducted online.
  • There are objective type questions in the IBPS RRB 2017 exam.
  • There will be different cutoffs for each section.
