1 September 2017: The Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Guwahati has started the online application process for the Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE) 2018 on the official website Students can access the special GATE Online Application Processing System (GOAPS) window directly at

GATE is the qualifying exam for admission in post graduation and doctoral programmes offered by institutes under the Government of India. It is conducted on rotational basis by Indian Institute of Science (IISc) and seven IITs. IIT Guwahati is the exam conducting authority for GATE Exam 2018.

How to fill GATE 2018 Application Form

  • Visit the GOAPS website
  • If you are already registered, log in with your registered id. If not, click on “New User? Register Here” and enter the required details to complete the registration process.
  • Complete the application form providing your educational details, personal details, uploading photographs and signature, choice of examination centre etc.
  • Click “Save and View” and check the form carefully. No further changes can be made if you proceed to make payment.
  • Click “Submit and Proceed to Payment”.
  • Make fee payment.

The GOAPS portal is designed to be self-explanatory with additional information and clear instruction wherever required. So, students do not face much trouble while filling the GATE Exam form.

The score card of GATE 2018 will remain valid for three years from the result announcement date.
