Eligibility Criteria Required For Bank Exams –
There are certain eligibility criteria which have to be met in order to appear for a Banking entrance exam.
Basic Eligibility Criteria Required For Entry Level Post –
- A candidate must be an Indian citizen with proof of Indian citizenship.
- Must have completed their bachelors from a prominent education institution or university.
- Fulfilling the age bracket set by the exam conducting authority.
- Candidates belonging to the OBC category will receive a 3 years of age relaxation, while applications belonging to the SC or ST category will get an age relaxation of 5 years.
- The minimum age criteria of the candidate are starts from 20 years old.
Other Eligibility Criteria Requirements –
The eligibility criteria required as per the Nationality/ Citizenship of a candidate as guided below:
- For the courses mentioned above, the candidate should furnish proof that the qualification is considered equivalent to a degree (Graduation or even Masters) by the Government of India.
- All the applicants must have to specify the percentage obtained in Graduation while filling in the online application. Apart from this, the candidates being awarded CGPA have to convert the same into a percentage. The Percentage calculation must be completed to the nearest two decimals.
- The fraction of percentage will be ignored, i.e. 54.99% will be treated as less than 55%, and 59.99% will be treated as less than 60%.

As per the Government of India norms, persons with benchmark disabilities are eligible for reservation under section 34 of “The Rights of Persons with Disabilities Act, 2016”, which includes:
- Deaf and hard of hearing
- Blindness and low vision
- Intellectual disability, autism, mental illness, and specific learning disability
- locomotor disability including leprosy cured, cerebral palsy, dwarfism, muscular dystrophy, and acid attack victims

Important Point To Know for Bank Exams in India
- The banking sector consists of commercial banks as well as co-operative banks. One must note that, every bank has different eligibility criteria and set of norms for different posts.
- In general, all the candidates who are willing to applying for bank exams are needed to be a graduate and hold a bachelors degree from any discipline for entry point officer cadre posts in many commercial banks.
- For the Clerical cadre recruitment, those applicants who have cleared higher secondary OR graduation can easily takes place in private banks and public sector banks.
- For the Nationalized Commercial banks, the age limit for PO is a maximum of 28 years of old and must be a graduate person.
- For the recruitment of Reserve Bank Officers (Grade A/B) examination will be held by RBI Services Board, Mumbai. The age limit is from 21 years to 26 years and must be a graduate/post-graduate/CA/MBA.
- The State Bank and Other Nationalized Banks- The age limit for PO is a maximum of 28 years and must be a graduate.
