The National Eligibility Test (NET) is conducted every year by the National Testing Agency (NTA) on behalf of the University Grants Commission (UGC). Earlier, the exam was conducted by the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE). The exam is conducted for accessing the eligibility of a candidate for the award of Junior Research Fellowship (JRF) and the post of Assistant Professor in Indian Universities. The exam for the year 2020 is scheduled to be conducted from 15th to 20th June 2020.

Changes in UGC NET 2020

A few changes have been introduced in the exam from the year 2018. The most important among them is the change in the exam pattern. The other one is - change in the upper age limit for the Junior Research Fellowship. It has been increased by 2 years.

Earlier, the upper age limit for JRF was 28 years. Now it has been raised to 30 years.

You can see here that paper III has been eliminated from the exam.  However, as per the official notification, the complete syllabi of earlier paper 2 and paper 3 will be covered under new paper 2. So, efforts are the same. You still need to prepare for the complete syllabus.
