How to Fill Up Application Form for UGC NET 2018?

In 2018, the National Eligibility Test will be conducted only once unlike previous years where the exam was held twice a year. The Central Board of Secondary Education or CBSE will organize the exam on behalf of University Grants Commission. To avail Junior Research Fellowship and Assistant Professor Programme, aspirants need to fill up application form for UGC NET 2018.

Eligibility To Fill Up Application Form for UGC NET 2018:

  • 30 years is the upper age limit for applying for Junior Research Fellowship and there is no age limit for Assistant Professor Programme. For SC, ST and OBC candidates, there is a relaxation of 5 years.
  • Every candidate must hold Master Degree from any recognized university.
  • The minimum obtained marks for general students are 55% and for the unreserved category is 50%.
  • The students appearing for the final semester for the master degree can also apply.

Steps to Fill Up Application Form:

CBSE will notify the students on the official website for UGC NET. After the notification, applicants can follow the below-stated steps to fill up the online application form:

  1. Visit the official website for UGC NET.
  2. On the homepage, you will find the link for ‘Apply for UGC NET’.
  3. The Instruction page will open. Candidates need to read the instructions carefully.
  4. After reading all instructions, select ‘Proceed to Apply Online’.
  5. Now candidates need to fill up the given fields with required information like name, personal details, academic details, contact details and most importantly Aadhar card number.
  6. Please review all the fields and after ensuring that all information is correct, select Submit button.
  7. A registration number will be generated by the system and displayed on the screen. It is mandatory for all candidates to save and note down the number.
  8. The scanned images of passport size photograph and signature in JPEG or JPG format will have to be uploaded.
  9. The registration fees will need to be paid via online mode only.
  10. After completion of payment procedure, a confirmation page will be displayed. They need to take print out of the page and save it for future reference.  

The candidates need to mention in the application form the post they have applied for. “Candidates appearing in NET should clearly specify in the application form whether they are applying for both JRF and Assistant Professor or only for Assistant Professor”; as per official website.
