A total of 60,000 posts has been announced for the RRB ALP (Assistant Loco Pilot) and Technician 2018 recruitment. Initially, 26,502 posts were released which were increased later. The Railway Recruitment Board successfully conducted the application process from 3rd February 2018 to 31st March 2018 for the RRB ALP 2018 exam which was held on 9th August 2018. Around more than 40 Lakh aspirants have enrolled for the application process with huge energy. There are certain eligibility criteria that RRB officials demand before enabling the aspirants to apply for the RRB loco pilot exam and technician exam 2018.

RRB ALP 2018 Eligibility Criteria

Age Limit – The age limit for the RRB ALP and Technician 2018 is minimum 18 years and maximum 28 years. Relaxation in the upper age limit is provided for the reserved category candidates - OBC, SC, ST, PWD, Ex-Servicemen, etc.

Educational Criteria

There is a certain educational requirement that the officials of Railway Recruitment Board demand for the RRB ALP & Technician 2018 exam. The aspirants who are found without such eligibility criteria will not stand permissible to appear for the CBT-Computer-based test of Assistant Loco Pilot or group C posts.

Must have done engineering /matriculation / SSLC+ITI from the recognized university/institutes of NCVT/SCVT in the following :

  • Trades of Armature and Coil Winder / Electrician /
  • Electronics Mechanic /
  • Fitter / Heat Engine / Instrument Mechanic / Machinist / Mechanic Diesel / Mechanic Motor Vehicle / Millwright Maintenance Mechanic / Mechanic Radio & TV / Refrigeration and Air-conditioning Mechanic / Tractor Mechanic / Turner / Wireman

 

 OR

Matriculation / SSLC plus Course Completed Act Apprenticeship in the trades.

 

OR

3 Year diploma in :

Mechanical / Electrical / Electronics / Automobile Engineering (OR) Combination of various streams of these Engineering disciplines from a recognized Institution in lieu of ITI

For the Post of Technician Grade III

Matriculation / SSLC plus ITI from recognized institutions of NCVT/SCVT in the trades

OR

Matriculation / SSLC plus Course Completed Act Apprenticeship in the trades

Medical Standards for RRB ALP Technician 2018

Here are few medical standards that you need to clear as well to stand eligible for the examination and post. Make sure you adhere to the following standards as stated.

Physical Fitness And Visual Alertness

A-1

  • Physically fit
  • Distance Vision: 6/6, 6/6 without glasses with fogging test (must not accept +2D)
  • Near Vision: Sn: 0.6,0.6 without glasses and must pass tests for Colour Vision, Binocular Vision, Field of Vision, Night Vision, Mesopic Vision etc

B-1

  • Physically Fit
  • Distance Vision: 6/9, 6/12 with or without glasses (power of lenses not to exceed 4D)
  • Near Vision: Sn: 0.6, 0.6 with or without glasses when reading or close work is required
  • Must pass the test for Colour Vision, Binocular Vision, Night Vision, Mesopic Vision etc

B-2

  • Physically Fit

RRB ALP Exam Pattern 2018

There is going to be a Computer-Based Test (CBT) which will be conducted in two stages as follows:

Note – There will be 100 questions and the time duration will be 90 minutes i.e. 1 hour and 30 minutes.

Stage -2 ALP/Technician 2018 – Part – B

In this part, total 75 questions will be asked and the time duration is going to be 60 minutes i.e. 1 hour. The questions will be asked from the Trade syllabus prescribed by DGET – Director General of Employment and Training.
