The official LIC AAO 2020 recruitment notification is out at the official gateway of LIC. The recruitment drive has once again started for the post of Assistant Administrative Officer (AAO). Students can fill the online application form for the 168 vacancies of Generalist, IT, CA, Actuarial & Rajbhasha and endow their entries from 25th February to 13th March 2020. Aspiring candidates can check the updated version of exam syllabus released by the Life Insurance Corporation of India.

LIC AAO Syllabus 2020 - Highlights

LIC AAO 2019 examination notification is released now. Unlike the previous years, now it will be a three-stage process and students will be selected on the basis of their scores in all the rounds.

  • Mains exams have been launched as a new stage for the LIC AAO 2020 Recruitment exam w.e.f 2019. Candidates can check out the LIC AAO Mains Exam Analysis.
  • Sectional timings have been initiated.
  • In the LIC AAO Mains Exam, subjects like Current Affairs and General Awareness have been added.
  • English Test is now mandatory to crack. 

LIC AAO Syllabus 2020 Structure

This year the examination pattern and syllabus of LIC AAO has been changed. According to the officials, this time three stages will be conducted for the examination i.e. Prelims, Mains, and Interview stage. Previously in the recent past years, only two stages were held- Online Test and Interview round. Make sure to check the entire major changes schedule by the Life Insurance Corporation of India.

LIC AAO Prelims 2020

The LIC AAO Preliminary exam is an objective type test consists of three sections:

  1. Reasoning Ability
  2. Quantitative Aptitude
  3. English Language

LIC AAO Mains 2020

The LIC AAO Mains exam has a sum total of five sections out of which four are of objective type questions and the rest follows a descriptive test.

  1. Reasoning Ability
  2. General Awareness & Current Affairs
  3. Professional Knowledge (for IT/ Chartered Accountant/ Actuarial/ Rajbhasha) and subjects of Data Analysis & Interpretation (for Generalists)
  4. Insurance & Financial Market Awareness
  5. Descriptive exam- English Language (Letter writing & Essay)/ Knowledge of Language (Descriptive) for Rajbhasha

LIC AAO Prelims Examination Syllabus 2020

Reasoning Ability

Mathematical Reasoning, Distance and Direction, Syllogism, Statements and Conclusions, Linear and Circular Sitting Arrangements, Mirror Images, Clocks and Calendars, Data Interpretation, Blood Relations, Puzzles, Coding-Decoding, Statements and Arguments, Alphabet Series, Number Series, Decision Making.

Quantitative Aptitude

Profit and Loss, Percentage, Number System, Simple and Compound Interest, Boats and Streams, Simplification, Average, Mensuration, Ratio and Proportions, Time, Distance, Work, Problems on Ages, Mixture and Allegation, Cistern and Pipe.

English Language

Antonyms and Synonyms, Direct and Indirect Speech,  Subject-Verb Agreement, Active and Passive Voice, Fill in the Blanks,  Parts of Speech,  Spotting Errors, Passage Completion,  Cloze Tests, Par Jumbles, Phrases and Idioms, Comprehension Reading, Sentence Improvement, Error Corrections, Singular-Plural.

LIC AAO Mains Examination Syllabus 2020

Reasoning Ability

Insurance & Financial Market Awareness

Students need to up-to-date with the latest policies, development project, news, and events of the country. In this section, participants have to solve questions based upon business, finance, Indian economy, insurance policies & laws, etc.

Descriptive exam- English Language (Letter writing & Essay)/ Knowledge of Language (Descriptive) for Rajbhasha

In this section students have to qualify letter writing and essay writing test.

Things to be Remembered -
