5 Important Points Before Applying for JEE Main Exam 2019

It’s confirmed – NTA will conduct the Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) Main two times in a year from 2019 onwards. The registration for the January and April sessions will be held on 1st September 2018 and on 8th February 2019 respectively. Aspirants who want to pursue B. Tech/B.E and B.Planning/B. Arch degrees from IITs, NITs and CFTIs must register themselves for the exam within the stipulated time. To register and fill the form successfully, they need to keep all the information like personal details, educational qualification and other details ready beforehand.

If you are one of the aspirants appearing in the test this January, here are a few points that you must take care of before applying for the examination.

1. Online Application:

The Agency will conduct the application process of the JEE Main Exam is in the online mode only. The candidates must follow the instructions for filling up the form thoroughly and carry out the process accordingly. Neither JEE nor NTA will carry out the verification process for the submitted documents. Therefore, the candidates must take adequate measures to insert all the information carefully. The information which you need to provide is nationality, state, state from where the candidate has appeared for the 12th exam, identification type, Aadhaar card number, name of the candidate, date of birth, gender, security pin and exam related details.

2. Required Documents:

Act smart and keep documents like Class X final marks sheet, Class XII marks sheet (only for the 12th passed out students), caste certificate for OBC, SC and ST, domicile certificate, passport size photograph, signature (both students’ and guardians’), signature and photograph. Make sure all these documents are scanned. The candidates must have valid email id for future communication.

3. Photo Size for JEE Mains 2019 Application Form:

Candidate needs to upload a passport size photograph, along with the signature of the student and mother/father/guardian of the student and the thumb impression. The images should be in the JPG or JPEG format. The Name and Date of taking the image have to mention by the student.

The scanned photo size for the JEE Main Exam application is 3.5 cm X 4.5 cm  (4 kb to 40 kb)

The scanned signature size for the JEE Main Exam application is 3.5 cm X 1.5 cm  (1 kb to 30 kb)

4. Application Fees:

The applicants can make the JEE Main 2019 exam fee payment via the online and offline mode. Those who want to pay through the online mode can complete the process by the net banking/debit card/credit card methods. And for the offline mode, you need to draw an e-challan at the Canara Bank/Syndicate Bank/ICICI Bank.

5. Aadhaar Card:

Since 2017 (when CBSE was the exam conducting body), aadhaar card has been made mandatory to sit in the exam. An Aadhaar card will help trace the accuracy of the details of the candidates. The Agency will make the most out of the aadhaar details by distributing examination centres in a hassle-free manner. It can shun the requirements of producing multiple documents for the verification.

According to the official notice, ‘Candidates, who are in possession of Aadhaar, shall enter Aadhaar number, name, date of birth & gender in the online application for JEE (Main) 2019 for the purpose of his/her identity and authentication thereof’.

For the candidates who have enrolled for the Aadhaar card but have not got the copy can enter the enrolment number instead. Students with no aadhaar details at all are required to visit the nearest enrolment centre, apply for one and insert the enrolment number. This is a mandatory step except for the candidates of Jammu & Kashmir, Assam and Meghalaya. Students from these three states can produce the passport number, ration card number, bank account number or any other valid government identification number.
