How can previous papers will be helpful for CAT 2018

This is the time to pull up your socks and get ready for CAT 2018; the countdown began as IIM announced the tentative date for CAT 2018. Indian Institute of Managements, or popularly known as IIMs are most prestigious management institutes in India. In fact, IIM has a presence in the world’s top 100 best management institutes.

IIMs offer the two year post graduate diploma in management (PGDM) which is equivalent to Master of Business Administration (MBA). Along this, students can go for Fellow Programme in Management (FPM) is a fulltime doctoral level programme in management and research equivalent to the Ph.D. degree.

In order to get admission in the IIMs and other management institutes, you need to appear in CAT 2018 exam. CAT is India’s one of the most difficult exams and it has a reputation to surprise candidates every year. There will be 3 sections for CAT 2018 as given.

  • Section 1 - Quantitative Aptitude (QA)

Number of Questions - 34

Time - 60 minutes

  • Section 2 - Data Interpretation & Logical Reasoning (DILR)

Number of Questions - 32

Time - 60 minutes

  • Section 3 - Verbal and Reading Comprehension (VRC)

Number of Questions - 34

Time - 60 minutes

Total no. of questions - 100

Total time - 180

You can have a glimpse over the experience of CAT 2017 from an expert’s opinion. The extracts from his words are; “Overall, CAT 2017 was slightly easier than CAT 2016. Level of difficulty same as last year. DI-LR: more difficult. 99%ile at 36-37 marks. Quant is similar to CAT 2015. 99%ile at 62-65 Marks. Verbal 99% at score of 65+. Over all 99%ile at 153-155 marks”. As it was unexpected, the exam was an easier one, which makes it difficult as the ranking will be higher with more marks scored.
