When it comes to having a job that would provide stability and respect, a career in the banking sector cannot be overlooked in this regard. Jobs in the banking sector are considered to be highly prestigious and secured with perks like attractive salary, incentives, career growth and many other benefits. Recruitment for bank jobs is done on the basis of entrance examinations. Such examinations are conducted every year for various posts including Probationary Officers, Clerks, Specialist Officers, Bank managers and more. The recruitment process for Public Sector banks (except the State Bank of India) is conducted by the Institute of Personnel Banking Selection (IBPS). The State Bank of India (SBI) conducts its own examination for Clerical, PO and SO posts.

Mostly, banking examinations are conducted in three stages – Preliminary, Main and Interview. A final merit list of the qualified candidates is prepared on the basis of the candidate’s performance in all three stages of the recruitment process. The candidates are then allotted respective posts at different locations.
