Opportunity for Sanskrit Students and Scholars to Get Rashtriya Sanskrit Sansthan Scholarship 2017

The Rashtriya Sanskrit Sansthan is a deemed university which has been established by the Ministry of the Human Resource Development. This scholarship aims at promoting Sanskrit studies among students.

  • The applicant should have studied Sanskrit/ Pali/ Prakrit on the regular basis as their main/ optional subjects.
  • The applicant should have also passed the previous class exam in the Sanskrit/Pali/ Prakrit exam.
  • He/ she should be enrolled in the Sanskrit Paathshala or Sanskrit Mahavidyala or Sanskrit Vishwavidyalaya.

The Rashtriya Sanskrit Sansthan Scholarship is given to students in various categories which are as follows:

On the Class 9th and Class 10th

Eligibility for the scholarship

  • The applicant wishing to get a scholarship in the Class 9th should have passed Class 8th with the overall aggregate score of 60% marks.
  • The applicant wishing to get a scholarship in the Class 10th should have passed Class 9th with the overall aggregate score of 60% marks.
  • The student should have a minimum score of 60% mark in the Sanskrit/ Prakrit/ Pali.
  • The students should have continued/ taken Sanskrit/ Prakrit/ Pali in the current class also.

Benefits of the scholarship

The beneficiary students get ₹ 250 on the monthly basis for 10 months.

On the Class 11th and Class 12th

Eligibility for the scholarship

  • The applicant wishing to get a scholarship in the Class 11th should have passed Class 10th with the overall aggregate score of 60% marks.
  • The applicant wishing to get a scholarship in the Class 12th should have passed Class 11th with the overall aggregate score of 60% marks.
  • The student should have a minimum score of 60% marks in the Sanskrit/ Prakrit/ Pali.
  • The students should have continued/ taken Sanskrit/ Prakrit/ Pali in the current class also.

Benefits of the scholarship

The beneficiary students get ₹ 300 on the monthly basis for 10 months.

On the Bachelor’s Level

The applicant should be pursuing Bachelors with at least Prakrit/ Pali/ Sanskrit as one of the subject carrying minimum 100 marks.

Eligibility for the scholarship

  • The applicant wishing to get a scholarship in the Bachelors should have passed Class 12th with the overall aggregate score of 60% marks.
  • The scholarship can be availed by the student either in the 1st year or the 2nd year or the 3rd year of the graduation.
  • The student should have a minimum score of 60% marks in the Sanskrit/ Prakrit/ Pali.
  • The students should have continued/ taken Sanskrit/ Prakrit/ Pali in the current class also.

Benefits of the scholarship

The beneficiary students get ₹ 400 on the monthly basis for 10 months.

 

On the Master’s Level

The applicant should be pursuing Masters/ Acharya in Sanskrit/ Pali/ Prakrit at the Masters level.

Eligibility for the scholarship

  • The applicant wishing to get a scholarship on the Masters level should have passed the Bachelors with the overall aggregate score of 60% marks.
  • The student should have a minimum score of 60% marks in the Sanskrit/ Prakrit/ Pali.
  • The scholarship can be availed by the student either in the 1st year or the 2nd year of the Master’s programme.

Benefits of the scholarship

The beneficiary students get ₹ 500 on the monthly basis for 10 months.

On the Ph. D Level

The applicant should be pursuing Ph. D/ Vidyavaridhi in Sanskrit/ Pali/ Prakrit.

Eligibility for the scholarship

  • The applicant wishing to get scholarship on the Ph. D level should have passed Master’s in Sanskrit/ Pali/ Prakrit with the overall aggregate score of 60% marks.
  • The student should have got registered for the Ph. D within 2 years from the date of the notification.

Benefits of the scholarship

  • The student gets ₹1500 on the monthly basis for 2 years.
  • The student also receives an additional amount ₹2,000 annually for 2 years.

Rashtriya Sanskrit Sansthan Scholarship 2017: Other Eligibility Conditions

  • The student can avail the scholarship only for 10 months in a year starting from 1st July to 30th April. Thus, a student should apply for the scholarship every year.
  • The Ph. D students are entitled for the scholarship for 2 years. They can avail benefits of the scholarship in the Ph. D 2nd year only after submitting a Satisfactory Progress Report to the Sansthan. The report is sent to the Sansthan through the Head of the Department/ College.
  • The reserved category of applicants is given relaxation in the marks on the basis of their caste certificate.
  • A student can apply for the scholarship only for once in a year.
  • The applicant would be considered for the scholarship only if he/she has studied Sanskrit for at least 1 year.
  • Applicants are allocated scholarship on the basis of their merit especially in the Sanskrit/ Pali/ Prakrit.
  • The total number of the scholarships is not fixed. It depends upon the allocation funds in that year.

Rashtriya Sanskrit Sansthan Scholarship 2017: Document to be Submitted

  • Mark-sheets 
  • Bank account details which should be in the name of the student.
  • Applicant’s Aadhar card details
  • Caste/Category Certificate (if Reserved Category then S.C/S.T/O.B.C/ Certificate)

If physically handicapped, then PwD Certificate from the appropriate authority in the name of the applicant
