AIIMS MBBS 2021: Exam Date, Application Form, Eligibility, Pattern, Syllabus & Result

AIIMS (All India Institute of Medical Sciences) is one of the premier medical institutes in India. It carries within its fold nine medical institutions located across different cities of India. It is an autonomous body formed under the Parliamentary Act of 1956. Till 2019, All India Institute of Medical Sciences, New Delhi used to conduct AIIMS MBBS Entrance Exam for admission in the MBBS programme offered by all 9 AIIMS (New Delhi, Bhopal, Jodhpur, Rishikesh, Bhubaneswar, Guntur, Nagpur, Patna and Raipur). The exam was conducted through CBT (computer-based test) in several Indian cities for admission in 807 MBBS seats offered by AIIMS.

However, with effect from 2020, admission to AIIMS MBBS will be conducted through NEET. This is done to ensure common standards of medical education in the country and save the students from appearing in multiple exams. AIIMS, New Delhi has also released a notice in this regard on 31st December 2019. The notice states;

“The admission to MBBS course in AIIMS, New Delhi, and all AIIMS like institutions will be made through NEET (UG) & will be conducted by National Testing Agency, not by AIIMS, New Delhi.”

AIIMS MBBS 2021 Exam Latest Notification: Admission to the AIIMS MBBS course will be done through NEET (UG). The exam is scheduled to be held on 1st August 2021 (Sunday). The application process is yet to start.

AIIMS MBBS Exam 2021 Pattern & Syllabus

The exam will be conducted through Pen-and-Paper mode.  The question paper will consist of 180 Objective Type (Multiple Choice and Reason-Assertion) questions. The duration of the exam will be 3 hours. There is a provision for negative marking where each correct answer will be awarded 4 marks, and 1 mark will be deducted for an incorrect response.

The syllabus for AIIMS MBBS 2021 exam is as under:

Physics - Physical World and Measurement, Laws of Motion, Motion of System of Particles and Rigid Body, Work, Energy and Power, Kinematics, Thermodynamics, Gravitation, Oscillations and Waves, Properties of Bulk Matter, Behaviour of Perfect Gas and Kinetic Theory, Electrostatics, Current Electricity, Magnetic Effects of Current and Magnetism, Electromagnetic Waves, Optics, Electromagnetic Induction and Alternating Currents, Electronic Devices, Atoms and Nuclei, Dual Nature of Matter and Radiation.

Chemistry - Some Basic Concepts of Chemistry, Structure of Atom, Classification of Elements and Periodicity in Properties, Chemical Bonding and Molecular Structure, Equilibrium, States of Matter: Gases and Liquids, Redox Reactions, Thermodynamics, Hydrogen, Hydrocarbons, s-block elements, p-block elements, environmental chemistry, organic chemistry, solid-state, chemical kinetics, solutions, electrochemistry, surface chemistry, general principles and processes of isolation of elements, p-block elements, d and f block elements, haloalkanes and haloarenes, coordination compounds, alcohols, phenols, and ethers,  Aldehydes, Ketones, and Carboxylic acids, Polymers, Biomolecules, organic compounds containing Nitrogen, Chemistry in Everyday Life.

AIIMS MBBS Exam 2021 Eligibility

Academic Qualification

  • Candidate should have passed class XII/Senior School Certificate Examination of CBSE or Intermediate Science (I.Sc.) or equivalent examination from a recognised Board with Physics, Chemistry, Biology and Mathematics subjects.
  • Candidates appearing in the above-mentioned qualifying examination are also eligible to appear in the AIIMS exam provided they produce the proof of passing the qualifying exam at the time of admission.
  • Minimum aggregate marks in Physics, Chemistry, Biology and Mathematics should be:

Age

The candidate should have attained or will attain 17 (seventeen) years of age as on 31st December of the year of admission (2021).

Nationality

Citizens of India, Overseas Citizens of India (OCI) and Non-Resident Indians (NRI), are eligible to appear for the exam.

AIIMS MBBS Exam 2021 Application Process

The application forms will be available soon on the official website. Candidates are advised to fill in the forms correctly and submit the same within the provided time.

How To Apply for AIIMS MBBS 2021

The following steps are required to be followed for filling the online application form –

  • Visit the NTA NEET official website for AIIMS 2021 application.
  • Click on the ‘Fill application form’ button on the home-page.
  • Read the instructions and proceed with the registration process.
  • Complete the Registration process by providing the details asked for.
  • You will receive the user id and password on your registered email id.
  • Use the user id and password to log in and complete the remaining steps of the registration process such as documents upload, fee payment etc.
  • Take a print out of the confirmation page.

AIIMS MBBS Exam 2021 Other Details

AIIMS 2021 MBBS Admit Card

NTA, the exam conducting authority will issue the AIIMS admit card in the third week of May 2021 on the official website. Candidates can download it from the website and must carry it along with them on exam day. The admit card will have all the important details related to the exam viz. Exam venue, timing, reporting time, candidate’s details, and exam day guidelines.

AIIMS MBBS Result 2021

The result of the AIIMS MBBS 2021 exam will be announced tentatively in October 2021 by NTA. Candidates can see their results online on the official website by entering their user id and password.

AIIMS MBBS Counselling for admission

After the declaration of the exam’s results, counselling will start. Candidates are required to be physically present for their counselling on the given date. In counselling, candidates are given a choice for colleges as per their rank and merit. Candidates must check the official website of NTA NEET for details on the counselling process.

AIIMS MBBS 2021 (NEET 2021) FAQs (Frequently Asked Questions)

AIIMS MBBS exam has now been replaced by NTA NEET. With effect from 2020, admission to AIIMS New Delhi and all other campuses will be done through NEET. Here are the questions related to the exam.

Q. Can a candidate change the centre of his exam after submitting the form?

No, a candidate cannot change the centre of his exam after form submission.

Q. If a candidate is required to fill the choice of the AIIMS location while filling the form?

There is no such requirement made during the filling of the examination form. It is done after the announcement of the result, during the process of counselling.

Q. If foreign nationals are allowed to take up this exam?

Candidates belonging to the category of overseas citizen of India are eligible to appear for this exam.

Q. Where to get the application form?

The candidates are required to visit the official website of NTA NEET to access the application form.

Q. How can a candidate obtain the login id and password from the website?

Candidates will receive the login ID and password on registration. These details are sent to the registered email ID provided by the candidates. So, they can access the same from their email-ID.

Q. If any documents are required to be uploaded during the filling of the application form?

No there is no such requirement for submitting any documents while filling the application form. Only scanned images of photographs and signature are required.

The institute has not mentioned anything about NIOS students’ eligibility. As per the eligibility criteria, NIOS candidates can apply for the exam. Else, call the Toll Free number – 1800117898 and get the answer for your query.
